When we are talking about sex, it covers a lot of different sexual activities. Below are the definitions of the main types of sex:
- Vaginal sex
A lot of people are of the opinion that vaginal sex is the real sex most especially when the penis of a man penetrates into the vagina of a woman. This is the only types of sex that can result in pregnancy, and also it can spread sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) which is also referred to as sexually transmitted infections (STIs).
There is no single recommended way to have vaginal sex, but there are several things you should put into consideration before you and your partner engage in vaginal sex. It is important that both partners are excited about having sex and that no one feels pressure or is forced to do something they do not want to do. Making a request from your partner and proceed with communication as you progress is the best way to ensure you have their approval. This should also be helpful in making the experience more pleasurable for both of you. Vaginal sex works best when both partners are sexually aroused. This is why it is good to do some foreplay before sex.
- Oral sex
The belief from some teenagers is that they can remain a virgin if they only engage in oral sex, however as against the belief of many people, “oral sex is sex”. When there is contact between the mouth and the genitals, this is referred to as oral sex. According to some people, they refer to it as “going down” on someone, or “giving someone a blow job”. Oral sex cannot lead to pregnancy but you can contact the same STDs and STIs spread by vaginal sex. This is means that to ensure safety when you want to do it, make sure you use a condom or dental dam.
- Anal sex
This is any type of sex that involves putting a penis into the anus of another person or their “butt”. Anal sex has the same risks as vaginal sex and oral sex. The belief of a large number of people is that anal sex is only peculiar to gay men. However, women also participate in anal sex. As more and more couples explore this kind of sex, it’s important to understand the risks, rewards, and the appropriate strategy is also important.
- Masturbation
Masturbation involves touching yourself to have a sensation of sexual pleasure; basically, you are having sex with yourself. There is no risk of pregnancy or STD / STI this makes masturbation to be the safest form of sex. Masturbation is common in men and women. According to one study, about 59% of women aged 18 and less masturbate.
- Mutual masturbation
This is a type of sex and it has to do with masturbating in the presence of your partner. It is a safe sex as it does not involve genital contact between you and your partner. Also, there is no risk of sexually transmitted diseases / STI or pregnancy. Mutual masturbation can be fun and intimate in such a way that other types of sex are not.
